Chiara Teresa Iezzi Cohen (born February 27, 1973) is an Italian actress, musician, record producer and singer.
She portrayed Victoria Williams in Alex & Co.
Life and Career[]
Chiara Iezzi has been interested in acting since adolescence. Passionate also in fashion, she graduates as a fashion designer while in her free time attends an acting school: she attends to several courses while she is still studying to obtain the fashion designer degreee. She begins to participate in some videoclips and keeps being interested in the world of acting until at the age of 22 she is noticed by a director in a videoclip and is proposed to take part in a casting for cinema in Rome. Chiara turns it down to be part of the duo Paola & Chiara with her sister, signing a record contract with Sony Music Italy. In 2007 she was invited to participate in a casting for a fiction on the life of Patty Pravo, which she has to give up due to record commitments, but her love for cinema and acting remain constant.
In 2011 she began to study acting and took part in international seminars in Los Angeles and New York: "Actor Studio" (2008-2010), Dedalo Teatro in Milan (2011-2012), Accademia 09 (2013-2014), Masterclass with Lola Cohen and Juan Fernandez (2015). She learns different interpretative styles including Stanislavski, Meisner, Strasberg, De Fazio.
She got an important opportunity to mix music and cinema in 2010, when she collaborated on the soundtrack of the film Maledimiele, directed by Marco Pozzi, singing the main theme of the film The Other Side of Me. The film is out of competition at the Venice Film Festival and the song receives the Roma Videoclip award.
In 2012 she is the main character of a monologue at the Teatro Franco Parenti in the framework of the Christmas Park. In 2013 she appeared in I Corpi Estranei, a dramatic film by Mirko Locatelli with Filippo Timi. In April 2014 she officially left the music to dedicate herself to acting, declaring she could include a musical aspect in the future linked to the world of cinema and soundtracks, or to any musical biographical roles. Since then she has taken part in several theatrical performances, videoclips and productions for cinema, TV and web.
In May 2014 she enters the cast of Under - the series (2014), a web series by Ivan Silvestrini with Gianmarco Tognazzi and Giorgio Colangeli. In September, the last of the ten episodes is presented at the Venice International Film Festival, at the Rome Fiction Fest and at the Roma Web Fest.
In 2015 he joined the cast of the second season of Alex & Co., in the role of Linda's mother and owner of the school, Victoria Williams. In March of the same year, she is chosen between 800 professional actors from all over the world by the director and Oscar winner Paul Haggis for a seminar and showcase from 10 to 14 March at the Golden Theater in Rome. The event is related to the "Artists for Peace and Justice" charity initiative for Haiti.
Also in March 2015 she enters the cast of the film Il ragazzo della Giudecca, directed by Alfonso Bergamo with Giancarlo Giannini, Mario Donatone, Luigi Maria Burruano and Franco Nero. In November 2015 she enters the international cast of Louis Nero's film The Broken Key alongside actors such as Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner, Lady Hawke), Geraldine Chaplin, Michael Madsen and William Baldwin.
In July 2016 she is chosen by Prada for the mini-fashion film The Hour of the Wolf for the Prada Journal III eyewear campaign, published on the official website of the fashion house. In December of the same year she is the official godmother of the Asti Film Festival with guests such as Roberto Herlitzka and Valeria Solarino. Chiara also works as a producer and director: in February 2014 she founded the company Licantro Bros Film, with which she produces the short film The Age of Wars.
Since 2016, she lives between Milan and Los Angeles.
